I don’t think this’ll be the path they go down as I think they’re going down the cloud is in denial path about her death past. I think him having to acknowledge she’s dead is enough to break him mentally, plus he’s not who he says he is, with the Zack/soldier past. They might I agree we missed these moments and they’ll be in the 3rd game, but I think they should have been in this one, cloud can be in denial but we the player should have felt the impact and they robbed us of that, it won’t be the same later

I dont know anymore, I thought this game was a sequel series with the things Remake alluded too. But at this point I don't think they have a clear direction and go only on fan feedback post game. The narrative threads of defying fate, "the UNKNOWN journey will continue", future memories were all red herrings to build hype around the next game and did not carry forward into Rebirth. I have 0 energy or momentum going into pt 3. It can literally be anything based off their lack of cohesion.

The funniest part of this could potentially be turn based stans/FF oldschool purists basing their entire expectations regarding FF9R on this leakers tweet 😂 Only for the reveal to be action ATB like FF7R and them defaulting back to multiple years of salt and rage 😂😂

As good as the first two games have been, the trilogy was always ultimately going to be defined by how it ends the story in Part 3. Anything that ends the story this side of AC and DoC is going to be so underwhelming. Knowing that those depressing episodes are still the narrative ending to the wider FF7 story and characters.......urgh.

If part 3 has a prologue, I’m guessing we will see the death scene and the part where cloud puts aerith into the lake etc. it would be nice if the 1st chapter is the groups journey to Junon from the forgotten capital

I’m saving my hard mode play through for once the 3rd game is officially announced but maybe we can do a video on how the third game plays out? Do a survey and you could have separate videos on story layout, what additional summons we will see/ do we keep all the ones we have to date, what vehicles, how things will end, etc. I’m picturing cloud and maybe Zack have some ripping emotional attacks against Sephiroth and just a brutal hacking and obliteration of him so he never comes back. Once again, I'm double backing to simplify a comment lol. I think it'll lead into AC, but with full developed context of the compilation with fleshed out and perfected elements. Finally watched all of Before Crisis. Think all I have left is 'Maiden who Travels the Planet' now.

Part 3 can be "The Return of the King" of FF VII or "Kingdom Hearts 3" of FF VII. Part 3 must end in a way that makes FF VII feel like a complete series that has a beggining and an end. Part 3 must end the Compilation and that role is a lot of responsability.

I hope they end it coherently, with no extra metaphysical nonsense added. We've already got enough at this point. Any more and I don't think it would be salvagable as a coherent story.

As harsh this might sound like.. I do hope that WHATEVER Square decides to do.. They will not fall into the "Please everybody stuff". It was already borderline-ish boring how they brought back Aerith in part 2. Like.. Do not get it wrong, I do love Aerith. But I do hope that they aren't going to bring the "alternative timeline" BS at last minute and give a sort of happing ending in the sense of "Oh she is not in the main timeline, but happy with Zack in another one". I just do hope that they will stand on theirs ground and original decision => She is dead and somehow thank's to Holly saves the world.

I really don't see how it would make sense for them to end FFVII and go straight into Advent Children. If anything, maybe a re-imagining of Advent Children could work. But I just don't see how can have multiverse traveling Sephiroth in control of destiny only for him to do the same thing that leads to his defeat all over again. If they did, it would be pretty fucking lame IMO.

they will surpass everything by redeeming Sephiroth and using him as the vessel that destroys Jenova in the world and lifestream once and for all then reuniting everyone together including Angeal and Genesis.. i think other mysteries will be revealed as well before the end.

Because of the low enemy HP, those enemies hit hard in IX! You had to work to even get an attack in with some fights. Had a funny thought about Quina lol. What if their species reproduces by barfing themselves up? I mean, they eat anything. How do we know the perfect personal recipe for each one of them doesn't turn sentient in their stomach and come right back out? It would explain the cooking obsession lol

I think I just want a free camera and some quality of life updates for a 9 remake. It doesn’t need to be the same scale as the 7 remake because it doesn’t need it the same way Think like the mythril mines in 7, it was 3 screens and is now a giant dungeon. I’m cool with small areas still being small areas for a 9 remake

I think the biggest takeaway from Yoshi-P's statement (on top of the nvidia and epic leaks) is that IX Remake exists and will be turn based. I somewhat believe him when he says his team isn't working on it but..... I'll still reserve my judgement on that. He's been known to talk in half truths like when he deflected involvement in XVI when he said he wasn't directing it. He seems to be close with Matsuno and Sakaguchi so hopefully he's been able to pull some strings for Tactics and IX respectively.

Nice to see Yoshi P acknowledge that a "theoretical" FF IX Remake would be considered a big project, FF IX is one of the games in the MAIN SERIES and some psychos would have you believe it is a "lesser" project just because it may not be on the same scale as the FF VII Trilogy, then again what single game COULD be compared to a massive project like that??? IX Remake being considered a smaller project to the level that it would be one of the games that would be canceled by Square due to their recent announcement. Give me a break.

The obvious two people that would work on a IX remake would be Hiroyuki Ito as director and Toshiyuki Itahana as character designer. Itahana at least seems to be on Kitase's side of things, working on "something he can't announce," at least at the time of that Paolo From Tokyo video. They got Ito locked up in a basement somewhere at Square, so who knows what he's doing. Addressing this is really necessary because it's been months of just "doooooood the next XIV expansion has IX stuff in it, THIS CONFIRMS EVERYTHING I'VE EVER WANTED ABOUT THE REMAKE," which is just a lot of nonsense wishful thinking. We fought Anima in Endwalker. That didn't mean Yoshi P was personally remaking FFX or that there was some tie in with the anniversary that guaranteed a remake in the style of FFVIIR. We have a new job partially inspired by Zidane, why wouldn't there be IX stuff in the next expansion? We already fought Ozma and Festival of the Hunt is the official PVP theme. Was the IX remake confirmed before the Nvidia leak even happened? Next best guess for who would be working on it would be some of the people pulled off of the cancelled AA projects at Square as well as what's left of Luminous chipping in to various degrees. Yoshida has a history of choosing his words very carefully. He denied for years that he was the director of FFXVI, but when everything was said and done he was the producer, not director. Yoshi P being the biggest Matsuno stan in the world and Matsuno giving the fans a hypothetical on Twitter that if they were to remaster Tactics would fans want them to rebalance thunder god Cid to only walk this back with a legalese answer of there is no remaster, please direct inquiries to Square Enix was the biggest give away that they were doing something. Tactics Ogre Reborn just getting dropped shortly after the Nvidia leak is another big hint. They were "placeholder," names because there was no legal requirement on Nvidia's part to deliver these games to you. Sure, FFIX is extremely likely, but where the hell is my Demon's Souls and Gran Turismo 7 PC port? Those were in the leak. Unannounced Tabata project was in there. Where the hell is my new Tabata game Square? There were a bunch of Nintendo games on there. Why can't I play Breath of the Wild on Steam Nvidia? Adobe Photoshop? Why can't I buy that through Steam? I do think there actually were database entries for other FF titles like IV, etc. but people cross referenced these as games already existing on Steam. The "Nvidia leak," is a heavily fan curated list of thousands of entries of raw data that that dude pulled off that server. Things do come true, but things also get cancelled all the time, and some of those entries were made up nonsense for whatever back end purposes. IX exists, that's great, but people have such a black and white notion of what the leak actually is. It's mind boggling.

I see a lot of guys that have female avatars on VRChat. There is a guy who dances in a world as a female avatars, but he isn't gay. He actually uploads transition vids here on youtube. I still don't know how to understand that set up, but a lot of guys have female avatars as their persona in Vrchat. I just brush it off, and sport the male avatars I created in some other software.
